all about dublin

Well, not exactly. This blog being just as egoistic as my other one it just won't be about everything in Dublin. Just about the things that I find interesting enough to write about. But, I have to admit, this is most likely not going to be as happy-go-la-la-blog as my Brno one. It is just not possible. A little comparison:

In Brno I have a flat overlooking the city in one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of the city. In Dublin I live 150m from the sea, but the only thing I see are the construction workers outside my flat (and, no, they are not a bonus...).

In Brno a beer costs 0,5 EUR, in Dublin 5 EUR. Minimum.

In Brno the cigarettes cost 2 EUR max, in Dublin 5 EUR.

In Brno it takes me 25 minutes to walk to work. In Dublin 1,5 hours with public transport.

In Brno I have a lot of friends. In Dublin close to none.

Ok, why do I want to stay here then? Well, part of it is of course the fact that the salary is better here. But it is not only that. I sort of have a feeling that Dublin will grow on me, as long as I have sorted out the commute and flat. The flat is actually nice and has all I need, and I guess it is more the fact that I love my Czech flat so much that it is hard to see that good side in this new one. I have a bathtub for example. And a TV. And a balcony. These are gooooood things. And, although I cannot see the sea, just knowing it is there is a great feeling.

I just wish I could transfer over some of my friends as well.
