Long time no bloggin'

Life's been a bit too hectic lately. Plenty of work and little sleep. Have a lot of fun though, and it was great when Hofik and Jarek were over last week, miss them a lot already. Have made new friends and don't feel like a socially miserable freak anymore. And...*big drum roll* I have quit smoking...yep, this time for good and this time I honestly believe that I'll make it. It feels weird though as I've been a casual smoker for the past 14 years.
Am leaving work early today, am wrecked after a really good night out last night and am meeting up Eugene (no guys, he is not my boyfriend. ;)) in town at 4. Long time since I took a few hours off...

Hungry...have a bad crave for burgers and a large coke. :(

Walking along the beach in Malahide

Weekends are nice. Evening buses home from work are not. Have literally two minutes before I need to leave so this one's just a very very quicky.

Had a perfect weekend. Friday I went out to a place called Odeon with Giselle. Had some blokes coming on to me, but nothing interesting at all...Got a nice pint of Hoegarden from a bloke that was hitting on everything, so sort of didn't feel guilty at all. Both Giselle and I got really pissed and had a blast.

Saturday was nice and relaxed, didn't do a lot. Watched the X Factor which was really funny...Jesus people cannot sing at all...

Sunday was nice, very nice. Got up early, had some tea and then went to Malahide for a nice walk along the beach. One bad thing though (of course)...had decided to go to Bray first (also a beachy place) but while on the Dart I realized that the south bound to Bray was cancelled the entire weekend. So, I sort of just took the train back, continuing up to Malahide. Absolutely great. Nice weather, a bit too humid but the wind was nice and sort of compensated it. After the walk I just went home, did some grocery shopping and went to vegetate in front of the telly. Made a stew though. Feel rather proud of that to be honest. ;)

Have to dash now. Take care folks!

all about dublin

Well, not exactly. This blog being just as egoistic as my other one it just won't be about everything in Dublin. Just about the things that I find interesting enough to write about. But, I have to admit, this is most likely not going to be as happy-go-la-la-blog as my Brno one. It is just not possible. A little comparison:

In Brno I have a flat overlooking the city in one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of the city. In Dublin I live 150m from the sea, but the only thing I see are the construction workers outside my flat (and, no, they are not a bonus...).

In Brno a beer costs 0,5 EUR, in Dublin 5 EUR. Minimum.

In Brno the cigarettes cost 2 EUR max, in Dublin 5 EUR.

In Brno it takes me 25 minutes to walk to work. In Dublin 1,5 hours with public transport.

In Brno I have a lot of friends. In Dublin close to none.

Ok, why do I want to stay here then? Well, part of it is of course the fact that the salary is better here. But it is not only that. I sort of have a feeling that Dublin will grow on me, as long as I have sorted out the commute and flat. The flat is actually nice and has all I need, and I guess it is more the fact that I love my Czech flat so much that it is hard to see that good side in this new one. I have a bathtub for example. And a TV. And a balcony. These are gooooood things. And, although I cannot see the sea, just knowing it is there is a great feeling.

I just wish I could transfer over some of my friends as well.
